Finding opportunities
How Maark surfaces work worth doing — and how proposals reach you.
A map of your keywords is only useful if it tells you what to do next. Maark runs dozens of opportunity checks across your Keyword Universe and rankings on a schedule, and turns what it finds into proposals you review.
The kinds of opportunities Maark finds
- Striking distance — keywords ranking just off page one (roughly positions 11–30) with real impressions. Small pushes here often move the needle fastest.
- Content decay — pages that are steadily losing traffic and are due for a refresh.
- Cannibalization — two or more of your pages competing for the same query, splitting their own signal.
- CTR gaps — pages that rank well but get fewer clicks than their position should earn, often a title or snippet problem.
- Coverage gaps — clusters with demand that no page currently owns, i.e. a page worth creating.
- Broken internal links — pages that return an error but still receive internal links from live pages, wasting link equity and dropping visitors on dead ends.
Proposals wait for you
Opportunities do not act on themselves. Each one becomes a proposal you can review, and approvals flow through Maark's review surfaces. You decide what becomes real work — mapping a cluster to a page, creating a new page, refreshing an existing one, or tasking a fix.
This proposal-then-approval model is deliberate: Maark surfaces the evidence and its recommendation, and a person makes the call.
Acting on an opportunity
When you approve an opportunity, it typically becomes one of:
- A mapping decision (this cluster is owned by that page).
- A new-page request for a coverage gap.
- A content task (a refresh, or a new article) that enters the content pipeline.
- A fix task for your team (for example, a broken-link repair to review).
