Connect Google Search Console
Link Search Console so Maark can measure your rankings and find opportunities.
Connecting Google Search Console (GSC) is the most important setup step in Maark. It is how Maark learns which queries you already rank for, where you sit just off page one, and which pages are gaining or losing ground. Almost every opportunity Maark surfaces leans on this data.
The connection is read-only — Maark can read your Search Console data but can never change your property, sitemaps, or settings. For the full trust explanation, see Why Maark asks for Search Console access.
Before you start
- You need a Google account that already has access to the Search Console property for your site.
- You need admin access to your Maark organization (only admins can connect data sources).
Steps
- In Maark, go to Settings → Crawl & GSC and pick the project you want to connect.
- Click to connect your Google account. Google's consent screen opens and clearly shows Maark is requesting read-only Search Console access. Approve it.
- You are returned to Maark and see the confirmation "Google Search Console connected successfully."
- Choose the GSC property for this site from the list of properties your Google account can access.
- Set your Sitemap URL if Maark did not detect one. This helps the crawler discover every page.
- Turn on auto-crawl and auto-GSC sync so Maark keeps your data fresh on a schedule.
What happens next
- Maark pulls an initial window of Search Console history and begins syncing on a schedule.
- The crawler starts building your page inventory, which feeds the Keyword Universe.
- The Crawl & GSC page shows live status: connection health, last sync time, crawl coverage, and any recent alerts.
Connecting more than one site
Each project connects its own property. If you manage several sites, connect Search Console per project. One Google account can own connections for multiple properties.
Troubleshooting
- No properties listed? The connected Google account may not have access to that property in Search Console. Add it there first, then reload.
- Connection shows a warning? A single failed sync does not mean the connection is broken — Maark shows health based on the underlying connection, not one transient error. Reconnect only if the connection itself is flagged.
- Still stuck? Email support@maark.ai.
