How credits work
Credits are Maark's single currency — here is what they buy and how they refresh.
Maark runs on credits — one simple currency for everything billable, from articles to keyword research to AI-visibility checks. This page explains how they work. For the actual prices and credit amounts, see the pricing page, which is the source of truth for numbers.
One currency, fixed prices
Every billable action has a fixed, published price in credits. You always know what something costs before you run it — no surprise bills, no "one article cost twice as much as the last." The full list lives on the rate card, shown both in-app and on the pricing page.
Because it is one currency, credits are flexible: budget you do not spend on content can go toward keyword research, or an AI-visibility check, or whatever you need that month.
What credits pay for
Credits cover the work Maark does on your behalf, including:
- Content — producing articles (written, edited, reviewed, illustrated, and published).
- Keyword work — enriching keywords with volume and search-results data as your universe grows.
- AI-visibility checks — measuring whether AI engines cite your brand.
- Recurring services — the background upkeep that keeps a site healthy, like crawl refreshes and universe maintenance.
Each of these has its own credit price on the rate card.
How credits refresh
- Monthly grant. Paid plans grant credits when you subscribe and again at each billing-cycle renewal.
- Grants reset each cycle. Monthly granted credits do not roll over — each cycle starts fresh with your plan's allowance.
- Top-ups roll over. Credits you buy as a top-up pack are different: they roll over for up to 12 months, so a one-time purchase is not "use it or lose it."
Seeing what you can do with your balance
From the balance widget in your workspace, the "what can I do with my credits" explainer shows the rate card with plain-language descriptions and worked examples, so you can translate a balance into real output. To manage the balance itself — top-ups, auto-refill, and low-balance behavior — see Balance, top-ups & auto-refill.
